Our editorial approach

How we research, explain and recommend.

Facts and sources

We use venue websites, institutional sources and artists’ official pages for factual information. Sources and a check date appear on each article. A venue’s advertised programme is not a guarantee that tickets remain available: Always check its current booking page.

Venue profiles and first-hand reviews

The initial venue profiles are research-based. We have not claimed to attend the performances, and we do not award stars or invent visitor opinions. A future first-hand review will identify the author, the date and performance attended, and any invitation or commercial relationship.

How we select

The city guides provide a starting selection with different formats and settings. Inclusion is not an award or a claim that a venue is the best. We explain what may suit a visitor and which questions require confirmation: Seating, accessibility, children, dinner and cancellation conditions.

Commercial transparency

Selected books and recordings include clearly marked Amazon affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. We select them for their connection to the article and identify the book language and recording format. These suggestions are based on documented content and bibliographic information; they are not presented as first-hand product reviews. Venue booking links remain official links without affiliate tags. This edition has no display advertisements.

Images and corrections

The Gazette uses real photographs of artists, places and performances. Each image identifies its photographer and reuse licence, with full details in Photography credits. Historic images are identified as such; a photograph does not confirm the current programme or imply that our team attended a performance. To suggest a correction, identify the article and the fact in question and include a source where possible.
